New Words

I am learning all sorts of new words. Some of them are very important because of the tone. I am quickly learning the meaning of "Outside & In the House!" I sorta like "in the house" the best. I have been very busy learning my new surroundings and pals, Duke & Cash. I must admit Duke is more of a father figure to me and Cash is my buddy. We play alot and sometimes we get told to "knock it off!" I guess we get too wild. But we have fun!
I am gaining weight and doing well. At 10 weeks old I was 20#! I love to eat and my food is very tasty. I eat in my crate, away from the boys. It is safer that way for all of us. It has been difficult to keep up with the blog due to some internet problems, but that seems to have been cured. So, hopefully I will be able to send more information to my followers. I have lots to tell.

My Name

I guess you are wondering how I came to be called Trooper. It was a long process that began the day I was born. My breeders decided this was the "T" litter so my registered name needed to start with a "T". My new owners thought & thought and wanted a strong name for a Rottweiler. They looked up "T" names on Wicapedia & Google and had many choices. Some of those were Tristan, Thor, Tank, Tagg, Tom (since I was born two days before Thanksgiving) & then Trooper. As you can tell my owners both agreeded that I should be called Trooper. I like my name, it is strong & manly. I also like the fact that my AKC registered name & my "call" name are the same.
I would also like for everyone to know I am a nephew to "Good Dog Carl". Yep, he's my famous Uncle so I will need to read his books written by Alexandra Day. We have all of them in my new home. I also have a Puppy Record book autographed by my Uncle and Ms. Day! Got to keep that up to date.

My Name is Trooper!

Here I am!!!!

Visitors

Yesterday, Michelle one of Dee's friends came to see me. She brought me treats and toys. She played with me and rolled on the floor with me. She was great fun! She even stayed for dinner and overnight. (Dee is at last learning how to include a picture with this post.) Hopefully there will be more pix and posts to come.
I like meeting these new friends. I also met Linda the other day. She seems to really like Cash since he sat in the chair with her. Guess the feeling was mutual. Cash is lucky to have such a good friend.

Elijah & Rowan

On my first evening in my new home I got to meet two amazing playmates! Elijah & Rowan! They came over especially to see me. What a treat. They seem to like me. I can hardly wait for them to come back  and play some more. They have a busy life with school, dance, soccer, piano lessons, & baseball. Hopefully they will get some time to help train me, I hear Rowan is quite the "dog trainer".
My new mom, Dee, has been off work all this week to create a schedule for me to follow. She thinks a schedule will be important for me and "the Boys". I sleep in a crate next to her bed at night, Cash is on the bed, & Duke lies next to my crate. He doesn't want me to escape. I think. I have been having very good nights of sleep, in fact I have to be awakened around 6am to get up and going.
My days are pretty full with 3 meals and lots of exercise. Dee took lots of pictures of me & "the Boys" and sent them to her friends. It was a very nice day with lots of sunshine. I hope her friends think I'm cute. It was difficult for Dee to get a photo of all of us together. Every time I ran towards Cash & Duke they ran the other way. Maybe they're are afraid of me?

Home

My name is Trooper, I am a pure bred Rottweiler born on November 23, 2010. I was welpped during a snow storm by candle light and a big bright head light due to a power outage. I was  in a litter of seven puppies, 4 boys & 3 girls. I was designated as "Purple" puppy, I spent my first 4 weeks of life on Vashon Island,Wa. where I was cared for by my wonderful mother Sara, and her breeder Varerie. I don't remember much about those 4 weeks other than I loved to hear Val's voice. She was so kind to me, holding me and rubbing my tummy.
At 5 weeks of age I was moved to Puyallup, Wa. which is  my mother's real home. There I got to meet my dad. His name is Saber and he is a Champion! I enjoyed my time there especially being able to play outdoors with my litter mates. In Puyallup I was cared for by Jan, she was also very kind to me. Val would also come to visit me. I remember one day many people came to visit us at the Kennel. I think they were checking us out. I was hoping to impress one of those folks to take me home.
On Monday January 17th, I left the kennel, my litter mates, my mom & dad, & the very best of human folks, Val & Jan for a journey to my new home in Snohomish, Wa. It was a long ride to my new home, almost an hour, I think I slept most of the way home. It was raining very hard when we arrived at my new home. I was taken inside after doing my business, and that's when I had the surprise of my young life! I was greeted by two giant dogs! Another Rottweiler and a Bully or Bullmastiff! Wow! Lucky me, to have buddies in my new home. These guys are big so I need to respect them and win their trust. Hopefully they will like me. I learned that the Rottweiler's name is Duke & the Bully is Cash. After our greeting I had lunch followed by a long nap. I needed to get ready to meet Elijah & Rowan.
